The Smith Family have recently re-opened recruitment for the Saver Plus program in Northern & North West Tasmania and look forward to working with you again to help inform families who may be eligible for the program. Saver Plus is delivered by Verity Tunevitsch in Launceston, West Tamar, Meander Valley, Latrobe, Devonport, Central Coast & Burnie council areas. Karli Fone who delivers the program in Southern Tasmania. 

 

The program’s impact in our local community and across Australia has been significant. Last phase we signed up over 400 participants in Tasmania onto the program which equates to around $200,000 of participant savings and another $200,000 of matched funds distributed to our community. 

 

Saver Plus participants in Tasmania have been using their matched savings, of up to $500, to help pay for educational costs including <school uniforms, textbooks, excursions, a laptop or iPad, music lessons, instrument hire, dance classes, TAFE, traineeship or apprenticeship costs, sports fees, school camps, scout & guide activities, tutoring, uniforms and other school equipment>. 

 

To help build awareness of Saver Plus I would be happy to:

• Run a free financial education session at your organisation 
• Come along to your next event to tell your <families/parents/clients/students> more about the program 
• Provide you with a small ad or information to run in your next newsletter 
• Drop off Saver Plus promotional material including brochures, flyers and posters 

 
A reminder that people may be eligible to join Saver Plus if they or their partner:

• have a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card; 
• are at least 18 years or over; 
• have some regular income from work coming into the household (this can be casual, part or full time employment or small business income); 
• are a parent or guardian of a child at school this year OR are attending or returning to vocational education themselves; 
• live, work, study or have a child at school in the area where Saver Plus is delivered (Launceston, West Tamar, Meander Valley, Latrobe, Devonport, Central Coast & Burnie council areas – please contact Karli on 6223 7264 to discuss Southern Tasmania areas.)
