Women in Horticulture

TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR WOMEN INVOLVED IN THE HORTICULTURE INDUSTRY

An education and training program is currently being offered to women involved in the horticulture industry. Approximately 15 women from across Australia will be chosen to participate in 10 online classes covering a range of different topics including production, sustainability and leadership development.

The aim of the program is to enhance the capacity of women in fruit and/or vegetable growing and production businesses, and to encourage them to engage with theirs and other industries. The project will also include attendance at a two-day conference in Adelaide, tailored to suit the interests of the group, where they will get the chance to network and take part in practical workshops.

This project is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry under Australia’s Farming Future.
